Washington Vignette portrait as described in George T. Turner’s Essays and Proofs of United States Internal Revenue Stamps, 1974, p87. These portrait dies all show Washington facing to the right, in ellipses of several sizes. This essay is similar to #128, which is similar to Essay #122 that was used for the $200 First Issue, differing in the coat fasteners. It is printed on celluloid measuring 76mm x 97mm. Vignette is 24mm wide. Very fine, scarce.
