Alaska-Yukon, Model Essay (370-E2 VAR). 40 x 39mm card with William Seward engraved portrait cut to shape (this is a die proof of a Snuff Stamp vignette) The vignette was changed from an image of a seal to Seward after adverse reaction from the Exhibition’s backers to a stamp that would emphasize the more frigid aspects of Northern life in Alaska.
